Samsung cannot produce enought A8 processors





According to a source in Taiwan, Samsung will not produce A8 processor for Apple because of low production yields.

TechNews Taiwan reports:

Samsung is currently the main problem facing the problem of low yield in its 20nm manufacturing process, not the title at Apple's demands, the need for an appropriate portion of A8 processor orders to TSMC, but based on recent progress news, Samsung was forced to abandon the orders may be more than just part of A8, A8 processor is probably all be produced by TSMC.

Apple Might Acquire Basis Science - Rumor



A company behind Basis Health Tracker Watch called Basis Science is currently on sale, TechCrunch reports. The company officials have spoken to a number of tech giants, namely, Apple, Google and probably even Microsoft and Samsung about a possible sale, however, it is still unclear if any of the companies agreed.

iWatch will predict heart attacks



The Chronicle reports that iWatch will be able to warn its user about a coming heart attack.

In 2011 Tomlinson Holman started working for Apple to "provide audio direction".  Tomlinson Holman  is a well-known audio engineer. He invented THX and 10.2 surround sound. It seems that Holman was studying blood flow sound in order to predict heart attacks.

Apple to Launch Updated iPad Air in 2014, iPad Pro and New iPad mini to Come in 2015



According to usually reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple won’t release its widely-rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the next-generation iPad mini this year. Instead, the guys from Cupertino will show us an updated iPad Air, equipped with a new Apple A8 processor and a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Flextronics assembles Macs in Texas



Bloomnerg reports that Apple has listed Flextronics International Ltd. in the Supplier Responsibility Report. The company has been an assembler of Mac computers since last year.

Flextronics assembled Macs in Austin, Texas, last year, Apple said in its annual supplier report published yesterday. Foxconn Technology Group remains the largest manufacturer of Apple products, with seven assembly locations in China and Brazil, according to the list published on Apple’s website.

SET Solution's 13-inch iPad Pro Concept Running OS X



SET Solution has created another iPad concept. This time it’s a 13-inch Apple’s tablet running Mac OS X - not iOS. iWatch to feature optoelectronics



China's Electrical Engineering Times reports that the coming iWatch will boast optoelectronics to monitor the heart rate and blood oxygen levels of the user.

Apple is said to have chosen the light-based technology over electrocardiography, a more accurate method which measures electrical impulses, due to the former's ability to continuously monitor heart rate with no action from the user. Most ECG-based products require multiple contacts, meaning users must either attach multiple diodes to their body or touch the product with both hands to get a reading.

Apple Sells More Computers and Smartphones than Microsoft



According to the latest Benedict Evans report, the company from Cupertino sold more Macs and iDevices than Microsoft sold Windows computers during the last holiday quarter. iPhone 6 will boast a new LED backlight



LEDInside reports that the iPhone 6 will be slimmer, lighter and boast a new LED backlight specs.

According to sources from Apple supply chain, the iPhone 6 is likely to be released in June 2014, and will have larger monitor size of 4.7”. Industry insiders also projected the iPhone 6 will have a much lighter frame, which will lead to upgrades in LED backlight specs. In the previous generation, the iPhone used 0.6t side-view type LED, in contrast the new iPhone will probably be adopting 0.4t side-view type LED.

Apple is producing sapphire for iWatch



According to a recent report, Apple is establishing the sapphire production for the iWatch rather then the iPhone.

'Taiwan supply chain insiders' claim that Apple is currently working on a sapphire screen for the new iPhone. However despite some testing units with the featured screen have been made, it is most unlikely that the production of the sapphire covered display begins this year.

Apple Fixes Issue Influencing Location-Based Apps



Apple has fixed an issue that turned off the geolocation functions of the force-closed apps in iOS 7.1, developers report. Latest betas prove that closing an application in the so to say “wrong way” doesn’t influence its location capabilities. And that is another improvement of the next-gen iOS 7.1 that is expected to be officially released in March.

Larger iPhones with Sapphire Screens Will Be Released in September



According to South China Morning Post recent report, the company from Cupertino will indeed release two iPhone 6 models in 2014. One will feature a 4.7-inch and the other - 5.5-inch sapphire display. These screens will get a pixel density of 441 ppi and this is a noticeable improvement, I must admit, since the current iPhone 5s boasts “only” 326 pixels per inch. Both handsets are expected to be unveiled no sooner than in September.

iPhone 6 will boast bezel-free display?



Korea Herald claims that we will meet new smartphones with a 'bezel-free' display and fingerprint scanning from both Apple and Samsung.

An industry source said Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S5 would sport a display without a bezel, or the rim surrounding a screen, and allow users to scan their fingerprints at the bottom of the smartphone screen. The phone will also eliminate the home button hardware featured on the previous Galaxy models, he said.
