New Rumors About 12-inch iPad Pro Appear Online





According to the latest report released by people familiar with the matter, Apple is currently working on a widely-rumored split-screen viewing mode for the iPad, which will allow users to work with two apps on a single screen simultaneously, multi-user login option as well as on two models of the long-awaited 12-inch iPad Pro codenamed “J98″ and “J99”. The aforementioned software improvements are expected to be introduced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June. Alongside the revamped Music app supporting Apple’s upcoming Beats-based streaming music service, they will may be added to iOS 9.

Apple to Add Home App for Controlling HomeKit Accessories to iOS 9



According to the latest report from reliable insiders, Apple is currently planning to release a new application in iOS 9 called Home. This application will allow users to control the HomeKit they own. In case you don’t know, the HomeKit platform was officially announced at WWDC last year. It lets developers create apps for iOS capable of controlling various smarthome appliances.

Apple to Add Apple Watch Font to iOS 9 and OS X 10.11?



According to the latest report from people familiar with the matter, Apple is planning to update the look of both iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 with a new font that was originally developed for the Apple Watch and is currently used on the wearable device. This new font will replace Helvetica Neue, which was introduced with the release of iOS 7 in 2013. In case you don’t know, the new font is called San Francisco; it was first shown to public last September.

Apple Adds 35 New Banks to List of Supported by Apple Pay



As you probably know, Apple’s NFC-based payments system called Apple Pay is currently available only in the United States of America. The guys from Cupertino are working hard to increase the number of partners supporting their service. A strong indication of their effort is the fact that they are constantly updating the list of supported banks and financial institutions. According to the latest document published by Apple, Apple Pay has recently begun working with 35 new banks in the USA. The total number of partners among financial institutions is now close to 300. If to take into account the number of retailers and shops across the USA, the total number will be even larger.

Apple Working on 'Find My Watch' Feature, Watch OS Update



Last week, I told you that the Apple Watch is a potential target for thieves as it has no Activation Lock or Find My iPhone feature. According to the latest report from 9to5Mac reporters, who cite reliable sources, the guys from Cupertino are currently working on an update for Watch OS that will include a feature called Find My Watch. This update will also make the operating system more stable and improve its connectivity and health-tracking capabilities as well as the compatibility with third-party apps. Moreover, this update can possibly make the smartwatch a primary input device for the upcoming Apple TV.

Last Year, Apple Decided Not to Release Its Own Television Set



According to the latest report released by The Wall Street Journal, last year, Apple decided to postpone the release of the television set. As noted in the report, the guys from Cupertino planned to add a 4K display, a FaceTime camera and a bunch of other interesting features  to their TV-set. They even managed to create several working prototypes. However, the company executives decided not to enter such a competitive market and cancelled the release of the new device.

Apple to Release 15-inch MacBook Pro and 27-inch iMac on Wednesday - Rumor



According to the latest report from MacG, the guys from Cupertino may release a brand new 15-inch MacBook Pro as well as the 27-inch iMac as soon as this Wednesday. The report goes in line with the previous rumors suggesting that Apple is working on the updated versions of its laptop and desktop. Still, earlier it was believer that these devices will be announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June. If the latest rumor turns out to be true, we’ll see a shift in Apple’s usual update cycle.

According to the latest rumors, Apple has recently acquired a GPS firm called Coherent Navigation. This firm, which was founded in 2008 by engineers from Stanford and Cornell, developed a technology that allows to locate objects with more precision using the so-called High Integrity GPS system.

New Patent Filing Describes Apple's Plans to Improve Fingerprint Recognition and Change Home Button



According to the latest patent filing, the guys from Cupertino are currently planning to expand the functionality of the fingerprint sensor and the Home button. This filing contains several separate patents describing new technologies that can possibly be added to the next generations of iPhones and iPads. One the most interesting inventions from the aforementioned document is a touch display with several fingerprint sensors. This special display will allow the user to define a special part on the front surface of the iPhone responsible for unlocking the phone, confirming purchases etc. Apart from that, Apple wants to make the Home button found on iOS devices more functional by adding the recognition of gestures. This will allow to navigate through websites and play games using the Home button.

40% of U.S. iPhone Users Upgraded to iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus - CIRP



According to the latest report from a research firm called Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), nearly 40% of the iPhone owners in the United States of America have upgraded to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus since the release of the handsets last year. The total number of Apple’s iPhones in use was equal to about 94 million in March. 25 million out of this number were iPhone 6 units and 13 million - iPhone 6 Plus units. Since March, the number of active iPhone users has grown.

Labor Shortages Reportedly Caused Slow Apple Watch Launch



According to the latest report from DigiTimes, labor shortages were the reason for the slow launch of the Apple Watch back in April. Apple’s main supplier responsible for the assembly of the wearable device, Quanta Computer, was unable to find the required number of workers during the Lunar New Year holidays and this caused supply constraints. As noted by Quanta Vice Chairman, the guys from Cupertino were even thinking about switching to other manufacturers to catch up with the demand for the gadget.

Leaked Images Show Next iPhone Rival - Galaxy S6 Active



As you probably know, Apple’s main rival, Samsung, released two new smartphones, namely, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this year. Both handsets are made of aluminum and have a pretty nice design. According to the latest images posted online by @evleaks, in the near future, the South Korean tech giant will release something called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. The rugged version of the flagship device will reportedly feature a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, a 14-nanometer Exynos 7420 processor and two cameras, rear and front-facing, with 16 megapixels and 5 megapixels respectively. Looks like there will be no fingerprint sensor. However, the waterproof and dustproof device will get a 3.500mAh battery.
