Apple has just stopped signing iOS 8.2, which means it is no longer possible to restore or downgrade your iPhone or iPad to this version of Apple’s mobile operating system. If you have iOS 8.3 installed on your device, you can simply ignore this post, however, if you want to continue using iOS 8.2, be careful and don’t upgrade to iOS 8.3 accidentally as it would be impossible to downgrade. This suggestion is especially important for the owners of older iPhones and iPads, which may encounter some performance issues on iOS 8.3.
It is Sunday again, which means it is high time I told you about the most interesting posts of the past seven days. In order not to waste our time, I suggest to take a look at them right now. Let’s do this.
A developer named Allan Wong has recently created an Apple Watch app, which allows him to fully control his Tesla Model S. Although this application hasn’t yet been released, it is close to completion and is pretty functional. It allows to perform a wide number of tasks, for example, open doors, roof, adjust the temperature inside of the car etc. Looks like finally the time has come and we can control our vehicles with the help of tiny gadgets on our wrists.
The video showing the functionality of the app called Remote S is available below, you may take a look at it right now. What do you think about it? Leave your comments below.
According the latest complaints from early Apple Watch customers, the Digital Crown on many devices seems to be a bit faulty. It is sometimes difficult to turn it. Well, yes, it works and that is the main point. That’s not a big disadvantage or inconvenience, however, if you purchase a brand new device, you always expect it to work perfectly well, right?
According to the latest report from The Wall Street Journal, the supply of the Apple Watch was heavily constrained at launch because of faulty taptic engine units. The part manufactured by a Chinese firm called AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. turned out to be defective. What is interesting is that taptic engines created by a Japanese supplier Nidec Corp were working just fine. It should be noted, however, that this information came from reliable insiders, not directly from Apple. The guys from Cupertino refused to comment on the issue. I can only imagine what could have happened if all the parts had been defective...
Apple has recently updated its App Store Review Guidelines. According to this updated document, the guys from Cupertino will reject the Apple Watch apps designed to only tell time. Although this sounds a bit strange, this is the reality. If you an the Apple Watch and want to change the watch face, you can easily do this using the built-in presets created by the guys from Cupertino.
According to the latest report from a research firm called Slice Intelligence, only about 22% of Apple Watch pre-orders have been shipped on the launch weekend. What this means is that most of the customers haven't yet received the wearable device they have pre-ordered.
It is Sunday today, which means it is time for me to tell you about the most interesting posts of the last seven days. Let’s not waste time and take a look at the articles worth your attention right now.
Last year, during the official media event devoted to Apple's first-ever wearable gadget called the Apple Watch, Apple CEO Tim Cook and other company executives promised that the smartwatch will not only run its own special modification of iOS, but also will boast its own App Store with applications designed for this new device. Looks like they kept their word as the new repository began to work on Friday.
Apple has recently released three new Apple Watch ads. They are called "Rise", "Up" and "Us" and as you might have guessed, they focus our attention on the key features of the long-awaited wearable device created by the guys from Cupertino.
According to the latest rumors, a firm called AU Optronics (AUO) will supply Apple with 4-inch, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display panels for the next generation of iPhones. Although both Apple and AU Optronics refused to comment on the issue, the rumor actually looks quite plausible as the guys from Cupertino need an additional supplier to avoid supply constraints.
According to what can be seen at the U.S. Apple Online Store, the shipping estimates for all the 21.5-inch iMac models apart from the entry-level one, which is the cheapest, have recently slipped to 3-5 business days. This indicates that the guys from Cupertino do their best to catch up with the demand for this device. I wish they had the same situation with their Apple Watch, which is currently constrained.
iOS or Android? This simple question can easily make calm and patient people nervous, angry and even aggressive. The controversy between the supporters of the rival platforms is perfectly displayed by millions of jokes, funny pictures and humorous videos found on the Internet. However, from time to time the aforementioned question drives people mad and makes them stab each other with broken beer bottles.
According to the latest report shared by The Wall Street Journal, Apple is planning to launch Apple Pay in Canada as soon as in November. The reporters claim the guys from Cupertino are currently in talks with six major Canadian banks about the possible launch of the NFC-based payments system in the near future.
First rumors about the 12-inch iPad Pro began to appear on the Internet last year. Since that time, we have seen lots of mockups, purported leaked parts and specifications for Apple’s larger tablet. This year, the rumors about the device started to become more and more plausible.
According to the new images showing something similar to the cases for the long-anticipated iPad, the suppliers are ramping up the production of such accessories. The quality of such products increases and this may be the indication of the official release of the tablet in the second half of this year. Below you may take a look at the photos of the cases shared by Sonny Dickson.
