Apple Bans Two Chemicals from Final Assembly of Its Gadgets





As noted by people familiar with the matter, the guys from Cupertino have recently banned two hazardous chemicals from the final assembly of iPhones, iPads, iPods, Macs, MacBooks and other gadgets. These chemicals include benzene and n-hexane, which can cause leukemia and nerve damage after direct contact with human organism.

iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c Remain Top-Selling Smartphones in Europe



According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter, Apple's handsets remain the top-selling smartphones on European market. Despite the fact that Samsung's Galaxy S5 was released after the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, it still only on the third place. However, the South Korean device seems to be gaining popularity.

Hackers Managed to Downgrade iPhone 4S From iOS 7.1 to iOS 5.1.1 Without SHSH Blobs?



Hackers from doulCi Team managed to downgrade the Phone 4S running iOS 7.1 to iOS 5.5.1 without SHSH blobs. It should be noted, however, that there’s no confirmation of this fact neither from hackers, nor from other trustworthy sources yet.

What we have now is a short video showing the iPhone after downgrade. I must admit, it looks fully functional. The video is available below.

Apple Expands Its In-Store iPad Trade-In Program



According to the latest rumors, the company from Cupertino has recently expanded its in-store iPad trade-in program to the UK, Germany, France and Spain. This means that if you live in one of the abovementioned countries, you can now bring your old tablet to the store and change it for a discount on a new iPad. It should be noted, however, that you can't trade-in your iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina display.

New Leaked Photos Depict Back Panel of iPhone 6



A couple of new photos appeared on the Internet yesterday that show something very similar to the upcoming iPhone 6. The renderings look pretty much the same as all of the previous ones, however, there's one noticeable difference. The back shell of the gadget is not solid; it has some breaks for the antenna.

8GB iPhone 5c Becomes Available in Several New Countries



Back in March, Apple released a new 8GB version of iPhone 5c in several countries, namely, the UK, France, Germany, Australia and China. Following the debut on the markets mentioned above, the handset earlier today became available in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Italy, Belgium and Poland.

Auki: Tweak that Lets You Reply to Messages Quickly



A new tweak for those who like texting friends has recently appeared on Cydia. It is called Auki. The tweak allows to compose new and reply to messages you get within few taps on the screen.

To create a new message, all you need is to swipe down the screen. To answer a message, you need to tap on the newly added "Reply" button. Nothing more. That's all thanks to the Quick Compose and Quick Reply modes. Take a look at the video showing how Auki works.

iPhone Market Share in Japan Is Close to 70% - Apple VP Greg Joswiak



Greg Joswiak, Apple VP of iPad, iPhone and iPod Marketing, in a short interview to TV Tokyo revealed that iPhone market share in Japan is close to 70%. Apple Officially Releases Cheaper 8GB iPhone 5c in the UK



Apple on Tuesday released a cheaper iPhone 5c model with 8GB of memory on board. The UK carrier O2 was the first to offer the updated handset via its online store. The prices for iPhone 5c, as you may see at the link above, range from free to £409.99 (this is about $680).

Apple to Launch 8GB iPhone 5c ...Tomorrow?



The company from Cupertino will release an 8GB iPhone 5c tomorrow. The new handset is expected to become about $80 cheaper that the current 16GB version, so looks like Apple is seriously planning to occupy the entry-level smartphones market.

In August of 2013, the company from Cupertino launched a trade-in program in the United States. Then the so-called Apple Store iPhone Reuse and Recycling trade-in program was launched in the UK and India. Apple will kick off its traditional ‘Lucky Bag’ one-day sale in Japan. This will happen on January 2nd. For those who don’t know, ‘Lucky Bag’ is a bag with discounted Apple products inside. It is sealed, so the customers can’t see what’s inside - and this is the point of all that stuff. Also known as Fukubukuro, the Lucky Bag promotion is a kind of Japanese local New Year’s Day custom.
