128GB iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Owners Continue Reporting Crashing and Boot Loop Issues

According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter, a relatively wide number of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners have encountered an issue that causes constant crashes and restarts of their devices. After such crashes, the smartphones get stuck in a boot loop and  it takes much time to bring them back to normal functioning. What is interesting about this particular glich is that it affects primarily the iPhones with 128GB of storage on board and those that have their storage full or nearly full.

Apple Won't Develop iPad mini, Will Focus on iPad Pro

According to the latest report from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple is currently planning to stop the development of the iPad mini to focus on the new project, which deals with the larger-screened iPad Pro. This year's iPad mini 3, the reporters claim, became the last Apple's product of its kind. While the guys from Cupertino haven't yet commented in the issue, such a step looks quite possible and logical. You see, the smaller tablet can be now substituted by the 5.5-inch iPhone, which is a bit smaller, but large enough for comfortable web-browsing, reading or playing games. For all the other things there's a normal full-size iPad.

Apple Remains World's Top Tablet Vendor - IDC

According to the latest reports from J.D Power and IDC, Apple currently remains world's top tablet manufacturer with 22.8% market share and 12.3 million iPad units shipped in the third quarter of this year. Still, the researchers claim that Apple's tablet sales are weaker than in the year-ago quarter. The manufacturers of the lower-cost tablets, for example, Lenovo or RCA, saw a noticeable increase in sales in 2014 and that means that more and more people prefer cheaper, but pretty efficient and reliable Android devices to hi-end and expensive iOS products.

Many OS X Yosemite Users Encounter Wi-Fi Issues

According to a number of complaints that can be found on Apple's Support Communities forum, a number of OS X Yosemite users have encountered some issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. The Wi-Fi connections are extremely slow or, in some cases, they disconnect within few minutes of work. It should be noted, however, that the number of users that have reported Wi-Fi issues is relatively small. Nevertheless, I believe the guys from Cupertino should pay attention to the complaints and fix the bug inside of the recently-released OS X Yosemite as soon as possible.

Meet Another Possible Apple Watch Rival: Microsoft Band

More than a month after Apple, Microsoft has today officially announced its smartwatch. The new wearable device is called Microsoft Band and I must admit it is totally different from the Apple Watch and other market rivals. It should be noted, however, that it is very difficult to call the new gadget a smartwatch; because of its design and the price tag of $199, it is rather a fitness tracker.

iOS 8 Adoption Rate Reaches 52% Five Weeks After Release

Several days ago, I told you about OS X Yosemite adoption rate, which at that time was 12.8%. Today I'd like to talk about Apple's iOS 8 and its adoption rate.

According to the latest figures published on Apple's App Store support page for developers, five weeks after the release, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system is installed on 52% of devices. And this is an impressive result, I must admit.

Apple's Vice President Greg Joswiak Apologizes for iOS 8.0.1 Bug

Greg Joswiak, Apple's VP of iPhone marketing, earlier today had an interview with Re/code reporters Ina Fried and Walt Mossberg. During this interview, Apple representative apologized for the iOS 8.0.1 bug that made it impossible for many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users to access Touch ID and cellular service on their smartphones. Joswiak claimed that a problem with iOS 8.0.1 was caused by the software distribution and not by the flaw in the operating system as it was believed earlier. Anyway, it was a terrible mistake, so I guess the guys from Cupertino should find out whose fault was that.
