iPhone Sales to Drop Next Year - Morgan Stanley Analyst





According to the latest report from Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty, the iPhone sales may drop next year for the first time ever. The number of iPhones sold in fiscal 2016 may fall by about 6% and make only 218 million units. The calendar 2016 may demonstrate the 2.9% fall and 247 million iPhone units sold to customers.

Apple Remains Top US Smartphone Manufacturer, LG Sees Substantial Growth - Analysts



According to the latest report from a research firm called comScore, Apple remained the top smartphone manufacturer in the United States of America in the third calendar quarter of this year. Even though Apple’s share fell from 44.1% in June to 43.6% in September, this result allowed the Cupertino-based company to continue being a leader of the market. Samsung also saw a decrease in the number of users, however, the South Korean tech giant managed to get the second place in the rating. The only company, which demonstrated growth in the number of users was LG. It came in the third spot.

Apple Announces Financial Results in Q3 2015



Apple on Tuesday announced its financial results in the third fiscal or second calendar quarter of 2015. According to the numbers, which were shared by the guys from Cupertino at a conference call yesterday, the company managed to earn $49.6 billion in revenue and $10.7 billion in net profit during the last quarter. If to compare these financial results with the results of the year-ago quarter, we’ll see that they are noticeably higher. The revenue of Q3 2014 was equal to $37.4 billion and the net profit accounted for $7.7 billion.

Cortana to Debut on iOS and Android Devices Later This Year?



According to the latest report from Reuters, Apple’s rival, Microsoft, is currently planning to make the updated version of its personal assistant called Cortana available not only on Windows Phone platform, but also on iOS and Android. Unlike the Siri and Google Now, the virtual assistant developed by the guys from Redmond won’t just respond to user’s requests. It will reportedly predict the help user may need.

iPad Sales Will See 30% Drop in 2015 - Ming-Chi Kuo



According to what usually reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo writes, Apple will see a 30% drop in iPad sales this year. Kuo thinks Apple will sell only about 45 million iPad units.This drop will become the biggest one since the time of the release of the very first iPad.

The release took place about three weeks after the release of the fourth beta and nearly three months after the release of the very first testing version of iOS 8.2. Apple Got 50% of U.S. Smartphone Sales in Q4 2014 - Analysts



According to the latest report released by a research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple managed to get 50% of the smartphone sales in the USA in the calendar quarter ending in December. In other words, half of the handsets sold on the territory of the United States over the last few months are Apple's iPhones.

Apple Watch to Account for 36% of Apple's Calendar Revenue in 2015



According to the latest report from the Evercore analyst Rob Cihra, the long-anticipated Apple Watch will account for as many as 36% of Apple's calendar revenue in 2015. The company from Cupertino will reportedly sell 18.5 million Apple Watch units this year and 22.9 million in 2016. As you probably know, the smartwatch is expected to be released either in February, or a bit later in March.

According to the latest report from a research firm called International Data Corporation (IDC), world's tablet market is expected to see a noticeable decline this year. In particular, the experts claim the year-over-year growth will be equal to only 7.2%, down from 52.5% in the last year. In general, world's tablet sales in 2014 will account for 235.7 units shipped.

IBM Created Smartwatch with Digital Crown Long Before Apple?



Looks like the concept of the smartwatch is much older than we all have thought. According to the video, which I managed to find on 9to5Mac this morning, back in 2001, IBM created a kind of smartwatch with small black-and-white display with touch input and something very similar to Apple's Digital Crown. Apple to Announce Fiscal Q4 Financial Results on October 20th



According to the recently-updated Investor relations page, Apple will officially announce its financial results in the fourth fiscal quarter (which is the third calendar quarter) of 2014 on October 20th. This means that soon we'll find out how many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units the guys from Cupertino have sold over the last weeks and how much money they have earned. Two-Factor Authentication Is Now Available on iCloud.com



Apple has just enabled its two-factor authentication system on iCloud.com. This means that the access to popular iCloud.com apps like Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Pages, Numbers, Keynote or Mail is restricted until the user enters a special verification code received from Apple.
