Fusion Drive is now available in 21.5 inch iMac

According to the information released on the MacRumors Forums and MacGeneration, Apple launches 21.5-inch iMac with integrated 1TB Fusion Drive. Fusion drive, designed for the iMac and Mac mini, combines SSD and traditional hard disk drives into one logical volume.

"With Fusion Drive in your iMac, disk-intensive tasks — from booting up to launching apps to importing photos — are faster and more efficient. That’s because frequently used items are kept at the ready on speedy flash storage, while infrequently accessed items go to the hard drive. The file transfers take place in the background, so you won’t even notice."

Fusion Drive with 1TB is optional, costing $250. Previously this option was offered only on the latest version of 21.5 inch iMac and Mac mini, as well as 27 inch iMacs.

The iPad 4 Has Been Jailbroken

Chpwn has posted an image showing Cydia running on a jailbroken iPad 4.

It doesn't look any different than on the iPad (3rd generation), but here's Cydia running on the iPad (4th generation): pic.twitter.com/zhrii6uX

Recently, MuscleNerd posted to show that the jailbreak discovered by chpwn was working for the iPad mini.

Last month, chpwn revealed that his jailbreak would be reserved as a failbreak. That means it will be limited to jailbreak developers and won't be released to the public. This is being done to make it easier to discover new exploits (which will be used for public release) in the future.

Phil Schiller Confirmed iPad Mini Carries Stereo Speakers

Diagram from the iPad mini tech specification page

It seems that iPad mini launch this Friday will mark the first time an iOS device includes stereo speakers. It appears that Apple’s transition to the new Lightning connector has left sufficient space for one more speaker on the bottom edge of the tablet, though the company decided not to include additional speaker to the iPad 4.
