iPad Mini Will Look Like A Larger iPod Touch
Today 9toMac that according to its sources the iPad mini will look like a larger iPod touch with skinner bezels on the sides paired with thicker bezels at the bottom and top of the device.
First sample photos from new iPad show dramatic improvement over iPad 2
Vietnamese website Tinh.te claimed on Tuesday to have received an LTE-capable version of Apple's new iPad. And soon there appeared a series of photos made by the third-generation iPad.
Later on Tuesday, a group of photos supposedly taken by the new iPad were posted to the website's forums. It's clear from the images that the new iPad camera is not as good as the 8-megapixel camera on the iPhone 4S, but, when compared to the iPad 2, which had a less-than-1-megapixel resolution, it's a definite step up.
RIM now worth less than Apple's App Store alone
Research in Motion is struggling now for its share of the mobile market. But the price of its stocks is getting lower and lower, so the company is worth less than the estimated value of just Apple's App Store. An analysis from Trefis' Brian S. Hall notes that at a price of $13.44, RIMM stock finished last week at a total value of just $7.04 billion, less than the $7.08 billion that Apple's App Store is estimated to be worth. As for the whole Apple company, AAPL stock has a market cap of $354 billion, or more than 50 times greater than RIMM.
"The App Store is probably worth more than BlackBerry," Hall wrote. "All of BlackBerry. Just the App Store. Nothing else. Not the iPhone or iPod. Not Mac. Just the App Store."
App Store is now one of the key components of Apple’s success. Just a year of Apple's iTunes Store and App Store’s operation costs Apple $1.3 billion, but last year only developers received $2.5 billion in payments in the App Store. According to a last week report, iOS applications bring in 300 percent more revenue than their Android counterparts.
RIM's stock has been showing decline in the price since the company announced last week that BlackBerry shipments reduced year over year while the company managed to ship just 150,000 PlayBook tablets last quarter. Moreover the company delayed the release of its next-generation smartphone operating system, BlackBerry 10, until the second half of 2012.

Amazon announced iPad killer: Kindle Fire
Today Amazon announced their tablet called Kindle Fire. It has 7" IPS display, custom android OS, weights 413g, has 8Gb of storage, Wifi. Unfortunately it does not have 3G. The price is attractive though - $199. Shipments start November 15.
We are not sure that this device can be a real iPad killer. However it will definitely compete with other Android tablets, like Blackberry Playbook, HP Touchpad and others.

Openwave sues Apple, RIM for allegedly infringed patents
Openware Systems has a lawsuit against Apple and RIM, accusing them in infringing of five of its patents. Three of them are related with mobile computing, while other two apply to cloud computing and fast page navigation.

Now Adobe’s Flash Builder and Flex framework supports iPhone and iPad
This morning Adobe a large number of software updates to the Flex Framework and Flash Builder that will make it possible for developers to create projects for BlackBerry PlayBook, iPhone and iPad, besides Android support that was implemented in April.
Now version 4.5 of Flex and Flash are added to Creative Suite 5.5 Web Premium and Master Collection, but also they can be bought separately (Flash Builder Standard for 249$, Premium for 669$). In a blog post Adobe’s Puneed Goel gave praises to the release:

Survey Reveals How Consumers Use Their iPad
Business Insider conducted an extensive survey having asked more than 850 people questions that surround the iPad and how it is used. Their survey revealed that for about 70% of respondents, there was only 1 iPad in their household and only about 23% has 2 in the one household – less than 7% had 3 or more iPads in their household. Nearly 40% had downloaded between 20 and 50 apps, whilst 30% had downloaded more than 50 apps – with few paying for more than 20 of those apps and only 6% paying for none. Below are some of the other more interesting results:
82% of future tablet owners will buy an iPad
Yesterday ChangeWave revealed the results of another survey, which shows that 82% of future tablet owners would prefer to buy an iPad instead of its competitors, namely Motorola Xoom and RIM Playbook.
3,091 consumers were asked in February what tablet would they like to buy and only 4% and 3% would choose Xoom and PlayBook respectively. Another 3% would stick with Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Apple's tablet market share decreased from 95% to 77%
Yesterday research firm Strategy Analytics has reported that in the December quarter iPad rivals started to conquer the tablet market, which caused Apple's tablet market share to drop from 95% to 77%.
In the Q4 of 2010 Apple sold record 7.3 million iPads and thus represented 95% of the market. Android shipments in turn increased from 100,000 units to 2.1 million, which eventually significantly changed the situation on the market, the director of Strategy Analytics Neil Mawston told.

RIM will use its PlayBook OS in smartphones
Yesterday Mike Lazaridis, who is a co-CEO at Research in Motion, revealed that the company's upcoming Playbook tablet will have a QNX-based BlackBerry Tablet OS that will eventually appear on multi-core BlackBerry smartphones and other tablets coming in the next ten years.
In his interview with Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg at D: Dive Into Mobile conference, which was taking place in San Francisco, California, Lazaridis showed RIM's upcoming 7-inch tablet and said it has "the perfect size", though the company plans to produce tablets of other sizes too.
