Global Apple Watch Pre-Orders Reached 2.3 Million Units - Analyst



According to the latest report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple managed to sell as many as 2.3 million Apple Watch units globally in the first day of sales. In case you don’t remember, the number of pre-orders in the USA on April 10th was reportedly equal to about 1 million.

About 200 Samsung Employees Are Working Exclusively on Displays for Apple Devices



According to the latest report from Bloomberg, Samsung has earlier this month formed a separate team, which will be responsible for the development and manufacture of displays specifically for Apple’s iPads and MacBooks. Although Samsung is not the first company that has a special department dedicated to supplying Apple with various components (LG also has one), such a step shows that not only Apple is dependent from its main market rival.

Apple Acquires Israeli Firm Called LinX Imaging



According to the latest report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple has recently purchased an  Israeli camera technology called LinX Imaging. The sum of acquisition is equal to about $20 million, the reporters claim. Looks like the guys from Cupertino have decided to improve the cameras found in their iOS devices. Unlike most device manufacturers, Apple plans not to simply increase the number of megapixels, but to work on the quality of the lenses and photo sensors in general. LinX Imaging will surely help Apple to accomplish such an ambitious task as it has developed a number of technologies specifically for making the quality of images taken with a smartphone camera better.

Apple Releases First iOS 8.4 Beta with All-New Music App



Apple on Tuesday seeded the first iOS 8.4 beta to developers for testing. The release took place just five days after the official release of iOS 8.3 to users worldwide. Apple Became Top U.S. Smartphone Manufacturer in February



According to the latest report from comScore, back in February, Apple became the top smartphone manufacturer. In the United States, its OEM market share equalled to nearly 42%.

Here are some fact and figures. Among the 186.3 million smartphone owners in the USA, 41.7% were iPhone users. The second place in terms of market share was occupied by Samsung with 28.6%, the third - by LG with 8.3%, the fourth - by Motorola with 5.1% and the fifth - by HTC with 3.8%.

12-inch MacBook and Apple Watch Pre-Orders Go Live



Just like it was expected, Apple on Friday made its long-anticipated Apple Watch and the 12-inch MacBook available for pre-orders in a number of countries including the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, China and Japan. Both devices are currently not available for the walk-in customers, moreover, Apple has reportedly sold out all the Apple Watch models it had in stock within less than six hours. Shipping estimates for the wearable device have slipped to about 4-6 weeks and those for the new laptop - to several days or weeks, depending on the configuration.

According to the latest report from John Paczkowski, the next-generation Apple TV, which is expected to be unveiled at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, won’t boast of the support of 4K video. As to the possible reason for Apple’s decision not to include 4K video support to the updated device, it may be connected with the lack of high-quality 4K content. As you know, the Apple Watch goes on sale in the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, China and Japan on April 24th.
