While Samsung claims it was Apple who started the severe rivalry a couple of years ago, it turns out it wasn't. Actually, quite on the contrary.

Top 10 Stories of the Week



The week has nearly come to an end, so it’s just the time to talk about the most interesting posts of the past seven days.

This week’s top stories deal with iPhone 6 and Apple vs Samsung trial. It Took Apple Several Years to Design iPhone for 'Normal People'

Apple Remains U.S. Top Smartphone Manufacturer



The company from Cupertino remains U.S. top smartphone manufacturer with Samsung and LG coming in the second and the third place respectively. Moreover, Apple’s market share continues to grow, comScore reports. However, Google’s Android is still the top smartphone platform as nearly 52% of devices on market have Android on board.

Apple's iPhones and iPads Don't Infringe on Samsung Patents - Japanese Court



According to the latest Japanese court ruling, Apple’s iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPad 2 don’t infringe on Samsung patents. Such a decision was revealed on Tuesday. What this means is that the company from Cupertino has won another court case against its South Korean rival. Anyway, I don’t think Samsung lawyers will come down and accept this ruling.

iPhone 5c Outsold Every Blackberry, Windows Phone and Android Flagship in Q4

comScore MobiLens and Mobile Metrix has analized the data concerning the situation on the smartphone market in the USA for January 2014. It turns out that Apple is on the rise, constantly increasing it share, while Android is falling behind. Blackberry lost the third place to Windows Phone.

TSMC to supply the new iPhone with A8 chips



The Commercial Times reports that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has initiated the  production of the A8 chip for the new iPhone.

The AFP relays the report:

The world's leading contract microchip maker last month started producing the A8 chip, which is tipped to power the expected iPhone 6, the Commercial Times reported. The report, which cited supply chain sources, said TSMC had won most of the manufacturing orders for logic and power management integrated chips for the new handset
