iOS 5 To Feature “Completely Revamped” Notifications and Widgets
As far as we know, WWDC, set for the 6th June, will be about software and the future of iOS and Mac OS X. TechCrunch believes that the forthcoming iOS 5 will be unveiled at the WWDC because Apple invited journalists and the iPhone PR team that usually covers major iOS announcements. As expected, Apple will introduce a completely revamped notifications and widgets. Apple’s fans’ videos in the past weeks showed how Apple could change notifications and bring new voice-recognition features and implement Lion-like Dashboard and home screen widgets. Other interesting feature, Nuance’s voice-recognition, which Apple is rumored to implement with some licensing deals on iOS and OS X Lion, will unlikely to be introduced in a new version of Voice Control (functionality that allows users to quickly call a contact or control music playback only using their voice) for iOS 5.

New Rumor Claims Apple Is Considering AMOLED For iPad 3
In a recent visit to South Korea Tim Cook, temporary Apple’s CEO, has discussed with Samsung the possibility of implementing AMOLED displays in the next-generation iPad, dubbed iPad 3. Apple would be interested in the technology for an “upgraded version” of the iPad 2.
“Apple wants to tap into Samsung’s AMOLED technology for an upgraded version of the iPad 2, considered as many by the iPad 3 that is likely to be launched toward the end of this year,” a source told The Korea Herald on Wednesday on condition of anonymity. During Cook’s trip last week, Apple seems to have offered Samsung an advance for the AMOLED displays, the source said.
Apple patents new LCD display for sunglasses’ fans
AppleInsider has recently found new Apple’s , which reveals the company has developed new unique liquid-crystal display. The document entitled “Display that Emits Circularly-Polarized Light” was first filed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in January 2011. It describes a liquid-crystal display in its essence, due to which the image is not distorted even when you look at the display through dark glasses of your sunshades.

Friskies makes iPad web games for cats
Yes, it’s true! Now it seems that our pets may really play a game developed for them by Friskies. Originally, discovering that cats liked to play with the iPad was just a matter of coincidence – а cat just liked to bat around the Magic Piano, and that was fine. But pet food maker Friskies has blown that idea right out, releasing a line of three full web-based games for the iPad meant to be played entirely by cats. Cat Fishing!, Party Mix-Up! and Tasty Treasures Hunt! are all games accessible for the iPad, and all three of them are designed to attract your cat's attention. Friskies even warns that while cat claws can't scratch the iPad's glass screen, certain plastic covers might get scratched, so be careful.
Apple Promises OS X Update to Delete Mac Defender Malware
Apple will release a Mac OS X software update in the next few days that will automatically find, block and remove the popular Mac Defender malware from infected OS X machines.
A recent phishing scam has targeted Mac users by redirecting them from legitimate websites to fake websites which tell them that their computer is infected with a virus. The user is then offered Mac Defender “anti-virus” software to solve the issue. This “anti-virus” software is malware (i.e. malicious software). Its ultimate goal is to get the user’s credit card information which may be used for fraudulent purposes. The most common names for this malware are MacDefender, MacProtector and MacSecurity.

iPhone 5 To Get A Curved Cover Glass?

Today DigiTimes that Apple may adopt a "curved cover glass" for its iPhone 5.
The publication's industry sources revealed makers of cover glass will reluctantly invest into glass cutting equipment because of the high capital involved. They also told Apple has already purchased approximately 200-300 cutting machines for glass makers. However, the company hasn't yet created a timetable for iPhone 5, as it is still working with suppliers to improve yield rates.

iPhone and iPad Win “Display of the Year” Awards
Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPad have been awarded the Display of the Year prizes by the The Society for Information Display. Apple devices were mainly awarded for the usage of In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, which provides greater viewing angles and brightness quality than other displays found on phones and tablets. The iPhone 4′s Retina Display, packing four times the pixels in the same old iPhone screen, was also mentioned for setting a new benchmark in mobile display solutions, as well as new standards in power consumption and image quality.
