Apple Became Top U.S. Smartphone Manufacturer in February
According to the latest report from comScore, back in February, Apple became the top smartphone manufacturer. In the United States, its OEM market share equalled to nearly 42%.
Here are some fact and figures. Among the 186.3 million smartphone owners in the USA, 41.7% were iPhone users. The second place in terms of market share was occupied by Samsung with 28.6%, the third - by LG with 8.3%, the fourth - by Motorola with 5.1% and the fifth - by HTC with 3.8%.

Cortana to Debut on iOS and Android Devices Later This Year?
According to the latest report from Reuters, Apple’s rival, Microsoft, is currently planning to make the updated version of its personal assistant called Cortana available not only on Windows Phone platform, but also on iOS and Android. Unlike the Siri and Google Now, the virtual assistant developed by the guys from Redmond won’t just respond to user’s requests. It will reportedly predict the help user may need.
iOS and Android Account for 96.3% Smartphone Market Share in Q4 2014
According to the latest report from a research firm called IDC, the combined smartphone market share of iOS and Android accounted for 96.3% in the fourth quarter. Apple’s share managed to reach 19.7% and the share of Android equalled to 76.6%. Just for you to compare: n the last quarter of 2013, Apple’s iOS grabbed 17.5% of the smartphone market and Google’s Android occupied 78.2%. As we see, iOS products become more and more popular, making users change their Android devices to iPhones. The guys from Cupertino managed to sell as many as 74.5 million iPhone units in the fourth quarter. The shipments of all Android smartphones combined accounted for 289.1 million units.
Microsoft Announces New Version of Its Operating System - Windows 10
Microsoft on Tuesday officially announced the widely rumored Windows 10. Probably the most interesting thing about the yet-to-be-released operating system is the fact that it will be running on computers, tablets and smartphones. Yes, that right, one operating system for all kinds of devices.

MuscleNerd Confirms TaiG Jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1 is Safe
MuscleNerd, a respected hacker in the jailbreak community, has confirmed via twitter that the TaiG iOS 8.1.1 jailbreak is safe.
Nothing too unsettling with that TaiG JB...just some light device fingerprinting. To see that, create an empty debuglog.cfg file next…
to the exe file. From then on, when you run the tool it'll log the urls accessed in a log/.log file.
Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 Beta Released
An untethered jailbreak of iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.2 beta firmwares has just been released by TaiG. It also works for iOS 8.0 and iOS 8.1.
MuscleNerd confirmed the jailbreak over Twitter; however, he warns that you should probably wait a couple days before attempting.
Looks like TaiG just released a jailbreak for 8.1.1 (and 8.0,8.1,8.2beta). Best to wait a few days just in case
TaiG was part of the controversial iOS 7 jailbreak from the Evad3rs. The jaibreak included the TaiG 'app store' for cracked apps by default in China. Following an outcry from the community the evad3rs responded by updating their jailbreak tool to remove TaiG.
Microsoft Releases New Cortana vs. Siri Ad
Microsoft has recently released another anti-Apple ad. This time it's a short clip featuring an iPhone 6 with Siri virtual assistant and a handset with Windows Phone 8.1 and Cortana on board. As you might have guessed, the guys from Redmond mock Apple's creation claiming their product is more efficient, functional and user-friendly.
Anyway, let's get back to the main topic. Today, Microsoft advertises Cortana's ability to create contextual reminders and traffic alerts based on the latest traffic data. Take a look at the video below and you'll understand what I mean.
