Foxconn to Invest $2.6 Billion into Display Factory Capable of Producing Screens for Apple





According to what people familiar with the matter say, Foxconn will invest $2.6 billion in the construction of the new plant capable of producing displays exclusively for Apple. The new factory will be reportedly build in Southern Taiwan by Foxconn-owned firm called Innolux. Company's executives decided to invest such a large sum of money into construction after the guys from Cupertino made a very "urgent" request.

Apple Replaces 'Free' Buttons with 'Get' Buttons on the App Store



Apple has changed usual free games and applications purchase buttons on the App Store. Earlier, all the software one could get without paying money was displayed with a "Free" button on top. Now those apps are available for download after pressing the new "Get" button. According to what many users report, the changes have been made both on the iOS version of the App Store and on the desktop one.

Apple Releases iOS 8.2 Beta with WatchKit SDK to Developers



Just one day after making iOS 8.1.1 available for users worldwide, Apple on Tuesday seeded iOS 8.2 to developers for testing. What is interesting about this particular update is that it contains WatchKit SDK that allows to create apps for the Apple Watch. Mass Production of iPad Pro to Start in Q2 2015 - Ming-Chi Kuo



According to what usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo writes, Apple's long-anticipated 12.9-inch or 12.2-inch iPad Pro won't enter mass production until the second quarter of the next year. Kuo believes that the thing that will push the production of the large tablet back is a brand new display, which is currently at the development stage.

iPad Pro to Feature 12.2-inch Display, Stereo Speakers and Be 7mm Thick



As you probably know, next year the guys from Cupertino are expected to release a new tablet called probably iPad Pro. According to the latest report found on the Japanese website called Mac Otakara, the new device will boast of massive 12.2-inch display, stereo speakers on top and bottom sides and the thickness of about 7mm. As to the other features of the iPad Pro, they remain unknown.

Cydia Update 1.1.14 released with bug fixes



Saurik has just released an update to Cydia that brings us one step closer to a stable jailbreak.

Cydia 1.1.14 no longer causes your device to lock up while booting on iOS 8 when you use a passcode. If you have installed unsupported modifications you may want to restore and jailbreak again, as those modifications are not supported.

Net Cost of iPad Air 2 Components Is $275 - IHS Experts



A research firm called IHC has recently torn down Apple's new iPad Air 2 to find out how much money the guys from Cupertino spend on the hardware for their flagship tablet. As usual, the net cost of components is much lower than the actual price of the device, however, we should not forget that this cost does not include the price of assembly, transportation costs etc. Anyway, the experts claim that Apple spends about $275 on the 16GB version of the iPad Air 2, which is one dollar more than the net price of the last-year iPad Air. Keep in mind that this is the basic model; all the other are more expensive to assemble.

Foxconn Plans to Build Display Factory in China?



According to the latest reports from the Wall Street Journal reporters, Foxconn is currently thinking about building a display factory in northern China. This factory is expected to produce high-end screens for smartphones. If the authorities of Zhengzhou give a permission to open such a facility, Foxconn will get an opportunity to manufacture screens for Apple’s next-generation iPhones.

iPad Air 2 Teardown by iFixit [Video]



iFixit team has recently performed a teardown of the new full-size iPad Air 2. This teardown showed that Apple’s next-generation tablet indeed boasts of a faster processor, 2GB of RAM and a number of other improvements. However, according to what the experts say, the new device has become less repairable; that is why the iPad Air 2 Repairability Score is only 2 out of 10.
