According to the latest report from MacG, the guys from Cupertino may release a brand new 15-inch MacBook Pro as well as the 27-inch iMac as soon as this Wednesday. The report goes in line with the previous rumors suggesting that Apple is working on the updated versions of its laptop and desktop. Still, earlier it was believer that these devices will be announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June. If the latest rumor turns out to be true, we’ll see a shift in Apple’s usual update cycle.

As you probably know, Universal is currently working on a new Steve Jobs biopic, which is expected to be released on October, 9th. The movie is directed by Danny Boyle and is based on the script written by Aaron Sorkin. Michael Fassbender is starring as Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs.

According to the latest rumors, Apple has recently acquired a GPS firm called Coherent Navigation. This firm, which was founded in 2008 by engineers from Stanford and Cornell, developed a technology that allows to locate objects with more precision using the so-called High Integrity GPS system.

According to the latest patent filing, the guys from Cupertino are currently planning to expand the functionality of the fingerprint sensor and the Home button. This filing contains several separate patents describing new technologies that can possibly be added to the next generations of iPhones and iPads. One the most interesting inventions from the aforementioned document is a touch display with several fingerprint sensors. This special display will allow the user to define a special part on the front surface of the iPhone responsible for unlocking the phone, confirming purchases etc. Apart from that, Apple wants to make the Home button found on iOS devices more functional by adding the recognition of gestures. This will allow to navigate through websites and play games using the Home button.

According to the latest report from a research firm called Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), nearly 40% of the iPhone owners in the United States of America have upgraded to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus since the release of the handsets last year. The total number of Apple’s iPhones in use was equal to about 94 million in March. 25 million out of this number were iPhone 6 units and 13 million - iPhone 6 Plus units. Since March, the number of active iPhone users has grown.

According to what IHS Technology Research Director for China Kevin King has recently shared on Weibo, Apple’s next-generation iPhone will feature a 12-megapixel camera with smaller pixels. This rumor goes in line with the most-recent report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who also stated that the guys from Cupertino may equip their new gadget with a brand new photo sensor.

According to the latest report from DigiTimes, labor shortages were the reason for the slow launch of the Apple Watch back in April. Apple’s main supplier responsible for the assembly of the wearable device, Quanta Computer, was unable to find the required number of workers during the Lunar New Year holidays and this caused supply constraints. As noted by Quanta Vice Chairman, the guys from Cupertino were even thinking about switching to other manufacturers to catch up with the demand for the gadget.

The shipping times for many 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro models have recently begun slipping to 2 or 3 weeks. This indicates that the supplies of the high-end laptop continue to decline. It’s true that the guys from Cupertino may unveil a brand new 15-inch MacBook Pro model with a Broadwell processor inside at the Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June. As you probably know, Apple’s main rival, Samsung, released two new smartphones, namely, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this year. Both handsets are made of aluminum and have a pretty nice design. According to the latest images posted online by @evleaks, in the near future, the South Korean tech giant will release something called the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. The rugged version of the flagship device will reportedly feature a 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, a 14-nanometer Exynos 7420 processor and two cameras, rear and front-facing, with 16 megapixels and 5 megapixels respectively. Looks like there will be no fingerprint sensor. However, the waterproof and dustproof device will get a 3.500mAh battery.

As you probably know, Apple's iPhone 6 is currently one of the thinnest smartphones on market. It features a sleek design and a display with incredibly thin bezels. The next-generation iPhone, which is expected to be released in the second half of this year is expected to become even thinner.

Keeping this in mind, SET Solution has recently created a new concept of the device called the iPhone Air. This model can boast of the 4-inch screen, the thickness of only 4.3mm, the height of 122.7mm and the width of 56.9mm. According to the latest report from people familiar with the matter, the long-awaited Apple's streaming music service based on Beats Music functionality will be called Apple Music and feature a deep social integration for artists. According to the latest aerial images shared by a traffic reporter Ron Cervi, the construction workers at Apple’s Campus 2 are working with an enormous speed. The images shared via Twitter depict the entire construction site and show how fast the main building,  four-story restaurant and the amphitheater with a large demonstration area are being built. As you probably know, the Apple Watch uses a display manufactured by LG Display. According to the latest report from a research firm DisplaySearch, the orders for the display for Apple’s long-anticipated wearable device allowed LG Display to earn $186 in the first quarter of 2015. This sum makes about 90% of the overall smartwatch display market worth. If you are interested in more facts and numbers, LG Display accounted for 66.8% of the total component shipments with 8 million units shipped in the first months of this year.
