Apple Became Top Smartphone Vendor in Taiwan in November





According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter, Apple has become top smartphone vendor in Taiwan in November. The guys from Cupertino managed to beat other vendors, which included HTC, Samsung, Sony and ZenFone in terms of not only sales volume, but also in terms of sales value. In the first case, the market share of Apple’s devices was 26.4% and in the second case it was even higher and accounted for 48.9%.

Samsung Closes One of Its Retail Stores in London



Samsung has recently closed one of its largest flagship stores, Samsung Experience Store located at the shopping center called Westfield Stratford City in London is no longer working. Currently, there’re only nine flagship stores of the South Korean company in the country and this number looks ridiculous of to compare it to the number of Apple Retail Stores. In case you don’t know, the guys from Cupertino have 38 locations across the UK. Three stores are situated in London - at Covent Garden, Regent Street and White City. Moreover, Apple is probably planning to open some more.

CNN Named Tim Cook as 'CEO of the Year'



It is no secret that this year has become incredibly successful for Apple. The company released two larger-screened iPhones that are currently immensely popular among the customers all over the world, moreover, the tech giant updated its tablet lineup with two models, namely, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Apart from that, in October, the guys from Cupertino launched their NFC-based payments service called Apple Pay in the USA. Finally, early next year, the long-anticipated Apple’s smartwatch will hit the store shelves. Unsurprisingly, Apple's stock value set a new record and made Tim Cook one of the most successful and influential people of this planet. That is why CNN has named him as “CEO of the Year”.

iOS Adoption Rate Continues to Grow Steadily - Apple



According to the official figures on the App Store usage published by the guys from Cupertino earlier this week, iOS 8 adoption rate has risen 1% over the period of time between December 8th and December 22nd and now is equal to 64%. Although the adoption rate rises not as fast as the adoption rate of iOS 7 last year, it grows steadily and that is the point.

Another Video Showing Apple's Campus 2 Appeared Online



AppleInsider has recently shared a new aerial video showing the progress on the building of Apple’s new “spaceship” campus. As you probably know, a couple of days ago the guys from Cupertino posted a photo indicating that the work on the Campus 2 continues at enormous speed. Apple Releases Security Update for Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite Users



Apple on Monday released an important security update for Mac owners. According to what the guys from Cupertino say, this update contains a fix for the critical issue with Network Time Protocol service on OS X and is highly recommended for Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite users. Apple asks Mac and MacBook owners to “install this update as soon as possible”.

Apple Releases Another OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Public Beta



According to the latest reports from reliable sources, Apple has recently begun seeding new public beta of OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 to users worldwide. The release comes after the release of the third Yosemite beta, which became available for developers earlier this month and contained some performance and stability improvements aimed at making the latest OS X version more efficient.

Russian Apple Online Store Is Back After Several Days of Outage, Prices Are 35% Higher



I have a piece of news for Russian customers: local Apple Online Store is currently back after being inactive for a couple of days due to noticeable currency exchange variations in the country. Apple has decided to shut down the website to adjust prices for its gadgets and accessories. As a result, the worth of hardware in the store is currently 35% higher than a week ago. Well, I must admit that the increase in prices is quite noticeable.

Flyover Is Now Available in New Cities in France, Sweden, Italy and Netherlands



According to what Dutch website iCulture and French Apple-related news portal iGen.fr write, the guys from Cupertino have recently updated their maps and added a Flyover feature to several new locations in Europe. Now the users of both iOS and Mac OS X can take advantage of using Flyover mode in such cities as Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Malmö in Sweden, Strasbourg and Dijon in France and Turin in Italy. Not bad, I must admit.

Apple Pay Accounts for 1% of Mobile Payments Market



Two months after the launch in the United States of America, Apple Pay currently occupies about 1% of mobile payments market. This is the information, which can be found in the latest ITG Investment Research Report on Mobile Payments (via MarketWatch). It should be noted that Apple's system still falls behind Google Wallet and its share of 4%. However, the adoption of Apple Pay rises incredibly quickly, so the time when it will beat all the rivals' systems is quite near, I suppose.

According to the latest information that can be found on Apple's online store, shipping estimates for the 16GB and 64GB iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on all carriers have recently improved to one day. This means that the customers in the USA currently have an opportunity to get their new smartphone shipped to them within one day after the purchase. Looks like the suppliers have finally caught up with the demand for the handset.

Apple Releases Third iOS 8.2 Beta to Developers for Testing



Apple on Thursday released the third iOS 8.2 beta to developers for testing. New firmware version can boast of a number of performance improvements and several important bugfixes. The release comes just one week after the release of the previous beta and about one month after the release of the first iOS 8.2 beta. Apart from seeding iOS 8.2, the guys from Cupertino also made Xcode 6.2 beta 3 with WatchKit available for developers.

Apple Raised $20 Million During (Product) RED Campaign



As you probably know, this year, Apple took part in the World AIDS Day campaign aimed at raising money to fight one of the most dangerous and quickly spreading diseases of the 21st century. The guys from Cupertino arranged several (Product) RED promotions, created a special (RED) App Store section and sent a part of money from all retail and online sales from Friday, November 28th and Monday, December 1st to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. In general, Apple managed to raise about $20 million. Well, this is what Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote in a letter to employees.

Apple Releases Safari 8.0.3, Safari 7.1.3 and Safari 6.2.3 to Developers



Several weeks after the previous release, the guys from Cupertino have seeded three Safari betas to developers for testing, namely, Safari 8.0.3, Safari 7.1.3 and Safari 6.2.3. Each of these betas contains a wide number of stability and performance improvements as well as some new features.

Apple Looks for Apple Pay Developers to Expand Service to Europe, Middle East, India and Africa



According to the latest job posting, which can be found on Apple’s official website, the guys from Cupertino are currently looking for specialists, capable of expanding the functionality of Apple Pay to several new regions, namely, Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa.
