The Latest Version 1.3 of Flickr For iPhone App Was Released
Many users of the popular and visited photo sharing/hosting and social network concept based Web resource – Flickr – have already enjoyed the special iPhone application which was released earlier and that is why will definitely estimate its latest version 1.3 which was launched few days ago.

Some users found the iPad 2's Camera app in the iOS 4.3 beta and made some screenshots which you may see above and below. 9to5Mac reports: "These screenshots are 1024 x 768 which indicate the same screen resolution as the current iPad. That might upset those hoping for more a retina-ish display in iPad 2. This may only be because the current simulator only simulates 1024 x 768 so those hoping for more pixels shouldn’t lose hope."
Another Apple's Patent Reveals a New Capacitive Touchscreen Technology
This week U.S. Patent and Trademark Office made public another patent application from Apple. It is entitled "Touch Sensing Device Having Conductive Nodes" and reveals a new way of creating new capacitive touchscreens that allow to make devices even thinner than before.
It is noted that existing capacitive sensing technology works very well, but it can be further improved, and not only to make devices thinner, but also to achieve better results in power saving and therefore battery life.

Apple Releases iOS 4.3 Beta to Developers
Yesterday Apple released the first beta of iOS 4.3 for the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. iOS 4.3 brings new multi-touch gestures built specifically for the iPad, including 4- and 5-finger gestures. The new beta reportedly allows users to pinch to access the home screen, to swipe up to reveal the multitasking tray, and swipe left and right to switch between open applications. The new update also reportedly adds the ability to change the functionality of the iPad hardware switch. The new beta confirms rumors that Apple would add its new Personal Hotspot feature to existing GSM iPhones with iOS 4.3. The functionality allows users to share their 3G data connection with up to five devices over Wi-Fi. Those reports claimed that Apple plans to publicly release iOS 4.3 in March.
Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Launches Mac App Store
Apple today has opened the Mac App Store with over 1,000 apps available at launch and released update Mac OS X 10.6.6 for Snow Leopard bringing the new Mac App Store via Software Update.

Apple investigating 'no-look' gestures for iPod nano
The new patent recently revealed by Apple tells us that the company is looking into multi-touch gestures that can be performed without looking at a device, which would address concerns about the multi-touch redesign of the sixth-generation iPod nano.

Apple ordered 65 million iPad screens for 2011
Last week another DigiTimes report had revealed that Apple ordered approximately 35 million iPad displays from LG and another 30 million from Chimei Innolux and Samsung.
According to the publication, these huge numbers show that Apple "is very optimistic about the tablet PC market in 2011, and it may also mean that Apple is overbooking panel capacity".

People Buy Kindle Though They Already Have iPad
This week Amazon has revealed another press-release, where it is said that the company's third-gen Kindle became the best-selling product in the history of the online retailer. To take the top spot it surpassed the book of Joanne Rowling "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows".
Though it was said that this holiday the 3G and Wi-Fi Kindle models are the best-selling products, actual sales figures were not unveiled. But it is interesting that Jeff Bezos, who is Amazon Chief Executive, said that people who buy Kindle also have one more tablet.

Prototype of Apple’s first portable Mac hits eBay
A prototype of Apple’s first portable Macintosh was offered for a sale on eBay. It has a label “this device is a demonstration unit only. Production units will comply with all applicable Federal Rules and Regulations” which confirms that it is a prototype unit. Unfortunately the devise does not power on because of the dead acid battery.

9to5Mac got some information about the upcoming Mac App Store. You can see the app's icon already, and the app will have a login screen very similar to what you already use in iTunes to install iOS apps.
Apple's next-gen iPad to get iPod touch-like back, wide-range speaker
Japanese blog MacOtakara published a new portion of rumors concerning Apple’s iPad 2. It claims that the second-generation iPad will have a smaller bezel, a flat back panel and a wide-range speaker. These changes might be caused by a couple of criticisms of the original iPad design. The outer plastic bezel surrounding the LCD screen of the iPad was seen as large by some. Thus, the forthcoming iPad will be 3mm smaller; reportedly measuring 239mm by 186mm. LCD screen on the next-generation iPad will stay the same size. Back of the iPad is reported to be "flat like an iPod Touch". It will allow the new iPad to sit flat on a desk surface. The current iPad has a rounded back. The Ambient Light Sensor will be moved to the "upper center of the rear panel and has a new 3mm slim hole". According to rumors, production of the new iPad has already begun and it will probably start shipping in the mid of January.

After being pulled from AppStore application Camera+ is back with version 2.0. It has new filters and enhancments in addition to the usual bug fixes.

New patent application reveals a spiral Cover Flow UI for music selection
Another Apple's patent application had been unveiled this week by the U.S. Patent and trademark Office. It is entitled "User Interface for Media Playback" and describes a new UI for browsing music albums on the iPhone and other touch-based devices.
The technology uses the idea of Cover Flow interface, which allows users to flip through album art and select the desired music, but now albums are proposed to be moved in a spiral form, not horizontally.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Is an 'Over-Sized Phone', Not Tablet
Sencha, which is a web application developer, has recently compared Android-based Samsung Galaxy Tab and Apple's iPad and made a conclusion that a Samsung's tablet is "a little bit of disappointment".
As Sencha develops different JavaScript frameworks that enable developers to creating rich mobile apps for Android and iOS devices built from web standards, the company is interested to know how good actual products perform and support HTML5 and related web standards. The latter include overall JavaScript performance, embedded multimedia playback, Web Sockets, Canvas animations, SVG and advanced CSS3 transforms. Here are the results received by Sencha in their tests of Galaxy Tab and iPad:
