Apple Orders 15 Million iPhone 5s, Shipping Begins in September

iphone51

DigiTimes today reports that Apple has placed an order for 15 million iPhone 5 devices with Pegatron Technology and those devices will start shipping in September 2011.

The sources pointed out that as the iPhone 5, which does not seem to have any major update from iPhone 4, is already set for shipment in September, they are already started supplying components to Pegatron with Pegatron's plants in Shanghai, China also recently started hiring for manpower.

DigiTime is a quite reliable source. They already predicted that Pegatron received an order for the CDMA iPhone 4. Moreover, Apple this year does not follow its yearly upgrade cycle, not making any announcement concerning iPhone 5 at this year's WWDC.

New MacBook Airs To Feature Black Case Option

maс airs

In recent weeks more and more reports have appeared, claiming that Apple is putting final touches to the new MacBook Airs that are expected to be released late June or July. MacRumors has a guess that  the high-end models may come with a black option for the aluminium case.

Over the past week, we’ve received several anonymous tips claiming that at least some models of the next-generation MacBook Air will be be available with a black finish, different from the aluminum case used on the current MacBook Air and most of Apple’s other Macs. The most specific of the claims suggests that a black anodized aluminum case would be available on a top-end MacBook Air model, in much the same way as Apple once offered a high-end black MacBook on top of the standard white offerings.

As for the black colour, Apple already offered black versions of the MacBook a few years. MacRumors also reports that their source close to Apple sent them e-mail, where he said that the  black MacBooks were indeed produced, but didn’t get Steve Jobs’ approval in the end.

samsung suit

Samsung’s lawyers have asked Apple to hand over “final, commercial versions” of the next-generation iPhone and iPad and the retail packaging design of the devices. This countersuit was filed after Samsung was asked to hand over Apple its prototypes of the Droid Charge, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Infuse 4G and Galaxy S 2.
