iOS Users Prove to Be More Active Online Christmas Shoppers





According to the results of the IBM survey first shared by VentureBeat reporters, iPhone and iPad users managed to beat the users of Android devices in terms of online mobile sales and shopping traffic during this year’s Christmas Day. Last year, by the way, the analysis of user’s shopping activity showed similar results. iOS users were using their devices to make purchases online more often than the owners of smartphones and tablets running Google’s Android.

Apple Pay to Be Launched in the UK in 2015?



According to the latest report from The Telegraph, the guys from Cupertino are currently planning to launch Apple Pay in the United Kingdom in the first half of 2015. The reporters claim that Apple is in talks with major banks of the country, which are a bit worried about security and privacy settings of the new payments service, but in general are pleased with the success of Apple Pay in the USA. Moreover, as noted by reliable sources, banks look forward to launching the system in the UK.

Apple Won't Arrange '12 Days of Gifts' Promotion This Year



As you probably know, every year since 2008, Apple has been offering a promotion called “12 Days of Gifts”. The guys from Cupertino used to give away songs, various apps, movies and other useful stuff for the customers in the USA, Europe and Canada during the 12 days after Christmas. Rockstar Consortium Sells 4.000 Patents to RPX Corp



The Rockstar Consortium, which includes such tech giants as Apple, Microsoft, BlackBerry, Ericsson and Sony, has recently sold its portfolio of smartphone-related patents to a firm from San Francisco called RPX Corp. This may mean that the end of the patent war between the guys from Cupertino and their rivals is near. As noted in the latest press release published by RPX Corp, the company plans to licence the aforementioned patents to Google, Cisco Systems and a number of other high-profile vendors.

Samsung Closes One of Its Retail Stores in London



Samsung has recently closed one of its largest flagship stores, Samsung Experience Store located at the shopping center called Westfield Stratford City in London is no longer working. Currently, there’re only nine flagship stores of the South Korean company in the country and this number looks ridiculous of to compare it to the number of Apple Retail Stores. In case you don’t know, the guys from Cupertino have 38 locations across the UK. Three stores are situated in London - at Covent Garden, Regent Street and White City. Moreover, Apple is probably planning to open some more.

CNN Named Tim Cook as 'CEO of the Year'



It is no secret that this year has become incredibly successful for Apple. The company released two larger-screened iPhones that are currently immensely popular among the customers all over the world, moreover, the tech giant updated its tablet lineup with two models, namely, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Apart from that, in October, the guys from Cupertino launched their NFC-based payments service called Apple Pay in the USA. Finally, early next year, the long-anticipated Apple’s smartwatch will hit the store shelves. Unsurprisingly, Apple's stock value set a new record and made Tim Cook one of the most successful and influential people of this planet. That is why CNN has named him as “CEO of the Year”.

Here's Why You Shouldn't Boil Your iPhone 6 in Coca-Cola - Video



A new strange video related to Apple’s iPhone 6 has recently appeared on YouTube. In a five-minute clip we can see a guy, who takes a brand new iPhone 6 and boils it in Coca-Cola. Well, I’ve seen a lot of strange people doing insane things, but I haven’t ever expected that anyone would boil a smartphone in Cola and film that.

Flyover Is Now Available in New Cities in France, Sweden, Italy and Netherlands



According to what Dutch website iCulture and French Apple-related news portal iGen.fr write, the guys from Cupertino have recently updated their maps and added a Flyover feature to several new locations in Europe. Now the users of both iOS and Mac OS X can take advantage of using Flyover mode in such cities as Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Malmö in Sweden, Strasbourg and Dijon in France and Turin in Italy. Not bad, I must admit.

Apple Raised $20 Million During (Product) RED Campaign



As you probably know, this year, Apple took part in the World AIDS Day campaign aimed at raising money to fight one of the most dangerous and quickly spreading diseases of the 21st century. The guys from Cupertino arranged several (Product) RED promotions, created a special (RED) App Store section and sent a part of money from all retail and online sales from Friday, November 28th and Monday, December 1st to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
