Reuters report, Apple and China Telecom have come to agreement on the iPhone and decided that the handset will be offered by the end of the year. Until now iPhone was available on 1.4 billion people market through the China Unicom network.

iOS 5 Beta 3 includes a new floating panel that provides users with access to a variety of hardware controls and gesture-based commands without using an iPad or iPhone’s physical buttons. The panel could also replace hardware controls when they are damaged. To enable the panel, go to Settings->General->Accessibility->AssistiveTouch. That new menu is available for four sections: Home, Device, Gestures and Favorites. In the Settings users can set up custom gestures and play with the built-in ones. The Home tab performs the same function as the Home button, Device tab opens a sub-menu with other controls to increase / decrease volume, lock or rotate the screen, and unlock rotation, while the usage of Favorites and Gestures are not clear yet.

According to Bloomberg , based on the information from the lawyer for plaintiff Personal Audio, a jury found that Apple had indeed violated two patents relating to downloadable playlists for iPods. Imagination Technologies Starts Licensing Next Gen iPad/iPhone GPU
Imagination Technologies, the contract manufacturer of graphic processor units (GPU) for the next-generation iPhone and iPad, has announced that its key partners have started licensing process of the company’s next-generation GPU with codename Rogue. It’s likely that one of such key partners is Apple, because the company uses Imagination Technologies' GPUs in many its mobile devices. Moreover, Apple not only a major client, it also owns 9,5% of the company’s shares. The current-generation iPad uses Imagination Technologies' PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. iCloud Communications Accuses Apple Of Infringing Its Trademark
This Thursday iCloud Communications filed a lawsuit against Apple. The plaintiff claims the Cupertino's company has infringed on its trademark and calls for an injunction, which would allow to block the launch of the iCloud service.

Android and iOS Continue To Dominate In US Smartphone Market
comScore has released the results of its April survey (comScore surveyed over 30,000 mobile phone subscribers.) of mobile phone usage in the United States. Surpassing Research in Motion, Apple took the solid second place among smartphone platforms and now iOS holds 26.0% of market. Google’s Android leads the pack with 36.4% of the market, an increase of 5.2 percentage points over the three month period. Research in Motion's BlackBerry operating system has slipped to 25.7%. When looking at mobile phone manufacturers overall, Apple is now the fourth largest vendor with a share of 8.3% of the US market. Samsung remains number one with 24.5% of the market, followed by LG and Motorola.
Samsung: Apple's Accusations Are Not Legally Problematic
According to Samsung mobile communications business head, Apple’s statement that Samsung completely dubbed such devices as iPhone and iPad has absolutely no grounds. Here is what J.K. Shin to the interviewer from The Wall Street Journal:
