iFixit Team Tears Down Long-Awaited Apple Watch



No earlier than yesterday experts from iFixit posted the results of disassembling the new Apple Watch on their official website. As we reported the day before, Apple started sending messages saying that the long-awaited gadgets had been successfully shipped to lucky ones, who managed to pre-order them. It took only a few hours for experts from iFixit to completely disassemble the device and post the detailed report to the official site.

Apple to Add New Features to Force Touch in Future?



According to a new patent application published earlier today, Apple’s Force Touch technology may be improved in future to allow users’ fingers to “feel” different textures, for example, wood or metal. Looks like the guys from Cupertino plan to add a special hardware component capable of simulating the surface of a certain material using different vibrations and temperatures. Frankly speaking, currently I don’t understand the purpose of creating such a technology, however, Apple will surely find a good application for it.

Apple Won't Release 4-inch iPhone This Year - Analyst



Despite all the rumors about the launch of 4-inch lower-cost iPhone later this year, a well-known and usually reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the guys from Cupertino won’t unveil such a device in the near future. He thinks that the smaller smartphone may be unveiled only in 2016. As to the reason for such a decision, it may be connected with the demand for the iPhone 5s, which stays strong. There’s no point in investing money on a new smartphone if people still buy the old one, right?

Apple Watch Pre-orders to Go Live in Several New Countries on May 8th



According to what the reporters from an Italian website iSpazio write, Apple will start accepting the pre-orders for the Apple Watch in this country as soon as on May 8th. Sources claim that some Apple Stores have already received special tables for displaying the Apple Watch units as well as some advertising materials. Apart from Italy, the pre-orders may go live in Spain and a number of other European countries.

AU Optronics to Produce Display Panels for iPhone - Rumor



According to the latest rumors, a firm called AU Optronics (AUO) will supply Apple with 4-inch, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display panels for the next generation of iPhones. Although both Apple and AU Optronics refused to comment on the issue, the rumor actually looks quite plausible as the guys from Cupertino need an additional supplier to avoid supply constraints.

iMac Shipping Estimates Improve to 3-5 Days in the USA



According to what can be seen at the U.S. Apple Online Store, the shipping estimates for all the 21.5-inch iMac models apart from the entry-level one, which is the cheapest, have recently slipped to 3-5 business days. This indicates that the guys from Cupertino do their best to catch up with the demand for this device. I wish they had the same situation with their Apple Watch, which is currently constrained.

Suppliers in Brazil and Vietnam Now Produce Cables for Apple



As you probably know, Apple suppliers responsible for manufacture of all kinds of cables, chargers and things like that used to be located only in China. According to the updated support page created to help customers recognize Apple’s certified products among the extensive amount of counterfeit ones, the production of authorized accessories for iPhones, iPads and Macs has been recently moved to Vietnam and Brazil. This means that currently Apple has partners in at least three countries, namely, China, Vietnam and Brazil.

Global Apple Watch Pre-Orders Reached 2.3 Million Units - Analyst



According to the latest report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple managed to sell as many as 2.3 million Apple Watch units globally in the first day of sales. In case you don’t remember, the number of pre-orders in the USA on April 10th was reportedly equal to about 1 million.

About 200 Samsung Employees Are Working Exclusively on Displays for Apple Devices



According to the latest report from Bloomberg, Samsung has earlier this month formed a separate team, which will be responsible for the development and manufacture of displays specifically for Apple’s iPads and MacBooks. Although Samsung is not the first company that has a special department dedicated to supplying Apple with various components (LG also has one), such a step shows that not only Apple is dependent from its main market rival.
