RoaringApps's Database Will Determine Compatibility Of Your Application With OS X Lion
If you plan to upgrade to OS X Lion this month, then there is a good resource to visit. Roaringapps.com is a public sourced database that is designed to help you determine whether your application is OS X Lion compatible. The site uses information entered by users about the compatibility of existing apps that run on Snow Leopard or about the need for Rosetta to work properly.
Final Cut Pro X Refunds
The Next Web reports that Apple has started to issue refunds to App Store customers for Final Cut Pro X, Motion, or Compressor after a wave of criticism from professionals due to absent of many “pro” functionalities of the previous version. One of the customers posted the e-mail demonstrating how Apple is dealing with these problems:
Moving forward, I understand that you are not satisfied with the app “Final Cut Pro”. I can certainly appreciate you would like a refund, and I would be more than happy to help you out with this today. In five to seven business days, a credit of £179.99 should be posted to the credit card that appears on the receipt for that purchase.
Please note that this is a one time exception because the iTunes Terms and Conditions state that all sales are final.
iOS 5 Beta 2: wireless iCloud backup restore video
Apple continues to develop a PC-free system. In iOS 5 Beta 2 it introduced a wireless restore functionality of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch from an iCloud backup. Here is a video demo:
Apple released iOS 5 beta 2
Apple has released iOS 5.0 beta 2 today. As usual it is for developers only, and for those who have activated UUID.
New firmware is available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad 1, iPad 2 and Apple TV.
The most interesting new features one can find are: wireless syncing (works at least with iTunes 10.5 beta 2 on Mac OS 10.6.8 or Lion), new UI for notifications and silver iCloud logo in Setting. Apple also added functionality that let's you wirelessly restore your iDevice from an iCloud backup.
Skype will be released for iPad with video calling
Skype recently posted a promotional video for an official iPad application that will have video calling functionality. The video has been deleted and later uploaded again on youtube by some user. The interface looks great. Take a look:

iPad with 3D display
Here is an interesting iPad modded with a 3D display at the Display Taiwan 2011 exhibition in Taipei. It requires 3D glasses, but still quite interesting gadget. In future iPad 3 might have such functionality.
iCloud Communications Accuses Apple Of Infringing Its Trademark
This Thursday iCloud Communications filed a lawsuit against Apple. The plaintiff claims the Cupertino's company has infringed on its trademark and calls for an injunction, which would allow to block the launch of the iCloud service.

iPhone 4S may get hybrid GSM-CDMA support
New report by MacOtakara claims that Apple may release the "iPhone 4S" that will sport hybrid GSM-CDMA functionality and a special SIM card slot for countries other than United States.
Besides that, the new smartphone will supposedly have a smaller hole for FaceTime camera and a "more narrow front receiver slit". It will also get a 5 GHz antenna for 802.11n wireless networking support.

iOS 5 will have panorama camera functionality
This code was found in iOS 5 beta 1 that was released several days ago. The code indicates that Apple plans to add panorama functionality to camera application. We don't know how it will make panoramas - either stitching together photos or making a movie.

iCloud replaces iTunes for iOS device syncing
John Gruber, founder of Daring Fireball web site, claims that he heard iCloud is something more than a new music service, it’s sooner will be a full replacement for iTunes.
Don’t think of iCloud as the new MobileMe; think of iCloud as the new iTunes.
Instead of simply revamped MobileMe with a new name, new UI, new functionalities and call it iCloud, Gruber pictures a scenario where iCloud becomes the new standard to sync all kinds of media and information to an iOS device:
German vandals put Windows logo on upcoming Apple Store
