Apple to Switch to OLED iPhone Displays in 2018 - Report





Apple is reportedly planning to start using OLED displays in iPhones in 2018. Such rumor has been shared by a Japanese website Nikkei. As noted by the reporters, the company has already begun notifying its suppliers about the switch to a new technology so that they can adjust their production lines or find new partners. Apple has been using LCD screens in its smartphones since the release of the very first iPhone in 2007.

JCET to Supply Apple with SiP Modules in 2016 - Rumor



According to the latest report from DigiTimes reporters, a firm called Jiangsu Changjiang Electronics Technology (JCET) has reportedly received orders to produce SiP (system-in-package) modules for Apple in 2016. The Asian manufacturer also plans to spend $200 million to expand the existing production lines in the near future and this is another indication of possible partnership with the Cupertino-based company.

iPad Pro to Go on Sale in Over 40 Countries Later This Week



Apple has just officially confirmed that the long-awaited 12.9-inch iPad Pro will become available for pre-order in the United States and a number of other countries of the first wave of launch on Wednesday, November 11th. iPhone 6s Plus Supplies Constrained Because of Faulty Backlight Modules



According to the latest report citing Apple’s supply chain sources, the iPhone 6s Plus is currently constrained because of faulty backlight modules. As noted by usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Japanese supplier Minebea has faced some manufacturing difficulties resulting in limited supply of the new handset. To resolve the problem, Apple is reportedly transferring orders to another supplier called Radiant, that is expected to see a 70-80% increase in orders in September. It appears that Radiant is more experienced in the production of backlight modules for large-screen devices.

According to the latest report from a research firm DisplaySearch, the orders for the display for Apple’s long-anticipated wearable device allowed LG Display to earn $186 in the first quarter of 2015. Apple Watch Constrained at Launch Because of Faulty Taptic Engines



According to the latest report from The Wall Street Journal, the supply of the Apple Watch was heavily constrained at launch because of faulty taptic engine units. The part manufactured by a Chinese firm called AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. turned out to be defective. What is interesting is that taptic engines created by a Japanese supplier Nidec Corp were working just fine. It should be noted, however, that this information came from reliable insiders, not directly from Apple. The guys from Cupertino refused to comment on the issue. I can only imagine what could have happened if all the parts had been defective...

Although the guys from Cupertino haven’t made any announcements connected either with the iMac, or its revamped screen, the rumor comes from a very reliable source. In case you don’t know, LG Display is one of Apple’s main suppliers, so I guess its representatives have access to the information about product releases. Anyway, I suggest you to take such a rumor with a few pinches of salt as its main purpose may lie in causing fuss around the new product.
