Legal hardware unlock for iPhone 4 released
Gevey has released a new hardware unlock for iPhone 4 called Gevey Ultra SIM.
The main difference compared to the old Gevey unlock method is that you don't have to dial 112. dialing 112/911 and hanging up is illegal in most countries, now this problem is gone.
Gevey Ultra works with
- iOS 4.0, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
- Basebands 01.59, 02.10, 03.10.01, 04.10, 04.10.01
Some sources claim that Gevey Ultra works even with the latest iOS 5 beta 1.
If you have 01.59 baseband you can still use free software ultrasn0w unlock. For everything else - just buy Gevey Ultra for $35
The installation is simple, but requires jailbreak. Good luck iOS 4.3.3 is jailbreakable. See our jailbreak instructions here (Mac OS) and here (Windows).

Samsung’s Lawyers Ask Apple To See iPhone 5 and iPad 3
Samsung’s lawyers have asked Apple to hand over “final, commercial versions” of the next-generation iPhone and iPad and the retail packaging design of the devices. The company wants to evaluate if their future products, like the Droid Charge and the Galaxy Tab 10.1, could have similar features with them. This countersuit was filed after Samsung was asked to hand over Apple its prototypes of the Droid Charge, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Infuse 4G and Galaxy S 2. In order to avoid future confusion with the Apple’s products, Samsung is asking the court to apply the same procedure that granted Apple’s lawyers access to Samsung’s upcoming products.
New iMacs Can Only Use Apple’s Hard Drives
The new 2011 iMacs — the ones with Thunderbolt, Sandy Bridge processors and better graphics — don’t allow you to use any other hard drive but Apple’s custom ones, which are running a custom firmware to provide temperature monitoring through a new 7-pin SATA connector.
For the main 3.5″ SATA hard drive bay in the new 2011 machines, Apple has altered the SATA power connector itself from a standard 4-pin power configuration to a 7-pin configuration. Hard drive temperature control is regulated by a combination of this cable and Apple proprietary firmware on the hard drive itself. From our testing, we’ve found that removing this drive from the system, or even from that bay itself, causes the machine’s hard drive fans to spin at maximum speed and replacing the drive with any non-Apple original drive will result in the iMac failing the Apple Hardware Test (AHT).
