According to the latest report released by usually reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the guys from Cupertino may officially announce the next-generation iPhone in August and release the device in September. It should be noted, however, that Apple has never organized any media events devoted to new product launches in August, so this may be the first time.

Top 10 Stories of the Week
It is Sunday today, which means it is high time I told you about the most interesting posts of the past several days. Let’s not waste time and take a look at them right now.
S1 Chip Is Manufactured Using 28-Nanometer Process
According to the latest report from ChipWorks, which was mentioned yesterday, the Apple Watch can boast of the processor manufactured using a 28-nanometer technology. And that is quite strange as most of the portable devices these days have more advanced chips inside. For example, the chip, which is currently used in the iPhone 6 is created using a 20-nanometer technology and the one, which is expected be added to the next-generation iPhone, is rumored to be produced using 14-nanometer building process.
iPhone 6C Will Cost About $400-500 and Feature A8 Processor?
As you already know, Apple is reportedly working on a 4-inch iPhone 6C, which will be released alongside the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus later this year. According to the most-recent rumors, the handset may be equipped with a 20-nanometer A8 processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. The sources also claim that the iPhone 6C will get a price tag of $400-500, which is lower than the current price of the iPhone 5s. The experts believe Apple will sell as many as 20 million iPhone 6C units in the first year after launch.
Samsung to Become Apple A9 Chip Supplier, Not TSMC
According to the latest rumor published by Re/code reporters, Samsung will become Apple’s sole chip supplier. Looks like the guys from Cupertino have finally made up their mind. The decision to choose the Korean manufacturer, not Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), is cased by the fact that Samsung uses a more advanced manufacturing technology and can produce more chips at a given time.
Samsung to Produce 75% of A9 Chips for New iPhones and iPads
About a month ago, a rumor appeared on the Internet, which suggested that Samsung will become Apple's primary A9 chip supplier. Although this rumor contradicted with previous reports from reliable insiders, who believed both Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) would supply the company from Cupertino with chips for next-generation iPhones and iPads, it looked quite plausible.
Yesterday, a new report from a South Korean newspaper called Maeil Business was spotted on the Net. According to this report, Samsung will get 75% of orders for the production of the A9 chip. The same report also notes that the processor for the new iPhone and probably iPad Air and iPad mini may be manufactured at the factory in Austin, Texas.

According to the latest report from Korea's ET News, Samsung has already begun the production of the next-generation A9 chips for Apple’s 2015 devices. As noted by people familiar with the matter, the manufacturing process is currently on its active phase at Samsung’s Austin, Texas plant.
Apple Made Samsung Main A-Series Chip Supplier
According to the latest report from The Korea Times, Apple has made Samsung its primary chip supplier. 80% of orders for 14-nanometer processors will go to the South-Korean manufacturer starting 2016. As to the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), it will get the remaining 20% of orders, which is also pretty good for this firm.
TSMC and Samsung Struggle to Become Apple's Main Chip Supplier
According to the latest report from Digitimes, both Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) are currently struggling to get the rights to manufacture the next-generation Apple A9 chip, which will reportedly be used to power company's iPhones and iPads next year. The guys from Cupertino will choose the primary supplier by the end of 2014, the reporters claim.
40% of Apple's A8 Chips Are Manufactured by Samsung - Rumor
Though Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is the main supplier of the advanced 20-nanometer A8 chips used in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung reportedly continues to produce about 40% of high-end processors. As revealed by IHS, the manufacturing cost of the new SoC is $20, which is $3 more than the manufacturing cost of the A7 processor.
A8 Processor Inside of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Is Manufactured by TSMC
Long before the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus release, a rumor appeared on the Internet that suggested that these devices will be equipped by a processor manufactured by a firm called Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). According to the latest report from Chipworks, the dual-core 64-bit Apple A8 processor is indeed manufactured by TSMC.
New Details About A8 Chip Appear Online
Several new rumors have recently appeared online, which deal with the new A8 chip that is expected to be added to the iPhone 6. According to these rumors, the processor will remain dual-core, however, it will feature a speed of 2.0 GHz or even more. Making a processor for the new flagship dual-core and not quad-core is rather a strange step. Nevertheless, we all know that even such a weak at the first glance SoC copes with the required tasks better than the chips with multiple cores found inside of the rivals' smartphones.
