Apple Got 50% of U.S. Smartphone Sales in Q4 2014 - Analysts





According to the latest report released by a research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), Apple managed to get 50% of the smartphone sales in the USA in the calendar quarter ending in December. In other words, half of the handsets sold on the territory of the United States over the last few months are Apple's iPhones.

Microsoft Announces New Version of Its Operating System - Windows 10

iOS 8 Adoption Rate Reaches 69% in Mid-January - Apple



According to the latest data that can be found on Apple's support page for developers, iOS 8 adoption rate has once again improved. Although this improvement is not as substantial as the previous one, it shows that more and more people switch to the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system. Some of them purchase smartphones and tablets with iOS 8 pre-installed, but most of the users simply upgrade to a newer version of iOS.

Earlier today, Apple was granted a patent for an eye-tracking technology, which can help users control the whole interface of a computer, laptop or smartphone. This technology will reportedly be used in the next generations of Apple's iPhones, iPads, Macs and even Apple TVs. The technology described in the document is unique as it allows users not to lose control of a cursor while working with a device. That is the key point of Apple's most recent patent.

iPhone 6s to Feature 'Force Touch' and 2GB of RAM - Rumor



Earlier this week I told you that the next-generation iPhone will feature a dual-lens camera system and the support of pressure-sensitive display technology called "Force Touch". Yesterday, a new report from Asian insiders appeared online, which once again suggests that the guys from Cupertino will add "Force Touch" to their new handset called presumably the iPhone 6s. Apart from that, the same sources believe the smartphone will also feature 2GB of RAM. And that is a noticeable improvement since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both have only 1GB of RAM on board.

According to the latest report published by a research firm called Counterpoint Research and first shared by Economic Times, in the last quarter of 2014, the guys from Cupertino managed to sold half a million iPhone units in India. I must admit, it is an impressive result, especially if to take into account the fact that in 2013, Apple marketed about a million smartphones in this country. Latest result indicates that the larger form factor was really something users around the world had been expecting for a long period of time. Apart from that, strong sales proved that in 2014, there were more people in India ready to purchase such device as the iPhone.

Flickr, one of the most popular photo sharing websites, has recently released a report on the most popular camera brands of the last year. According to this report, the most popular brands of 2014 included Canon with 13.4% of photos taken by cameras of this manufacturer, Apple with 9.6%, Nikon with 9.3%, Samsung with 5.6% and Sony with 4.2%. Such a figure shows that over the last month, the number of iOS 8 users has grown 5%. Bank of America Promotes Apple's iPhone 6 and Apple Pay in New Ad



Bank of America has recently released a new ad highlighting the iPhone 6 and Apple Pay. In such a way one of the largest banks in the USA has joined the army of banks and retailers that promote the NFC-based payments service created by the guys from Cupertino and launched in the United States of America back in October.

Samsung Customers Are More Satisfied with Their Smartphones than Apple Customers



According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Samsung users are more satisfied with their gadgets than Apple users. In particular, the satisfaction rate grew 6.6% over the last 12 months to 81%. If to speak about Apple, it saw a 2.5% decrease in customer satisfaction in 2014. “Only” 79% of users are fully satisfied with their iPhones.
